The family we were born into is full of its own culture, emotions and expectations. Sometimes we love it and sometimes we don't. Choosing other non-familial relations is often out of necessity or a deep desire to satisfy our unfulfilled needs. It's helpful to occasionally evaluate these relationships and have gratitude for those that are here to help us, equally being intentionally there to support others as well. "Family" has many meanings and layers, and we are thankful for the opportunity to adjust our family structure for the greatest good we feel we need.
